Project Beacon Child Safety Standards
Project Beacon has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. This page explains our standards, how to report a concern, and how reports are handled.
Effective September 16, 2026 · Public page — no sign-in required
1. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation
Project Beacon has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (“CSAE”) and child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”). Beacon strictly prohibits using the platform for, or in connection with:
- child sexual abuse or exploitation of any kind;
- CSAM, in any form;
- grooming a child for sexual exploitation;
- sexualization of minors;
- sextortion involving minors;
- trafficking or solicitation of minors for sexual exploitation; and
- requesting, distributing, uploading, transmitting, or otherwise facilitating sexual content involving minors, or any other conduct that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child.
This prohibition applies across all of Project Beacon’s features, including member profiles and profile images, private messages, Lit Beacon chats, Clans and community features, and any other user-generated content or communication on Beacon.
2. Adults-only platform
Project Beacon is intended only for people aged 18 or older. Being an adults-only platform does not change or reduce Beacon’s zero-tolerance policy toward CSAE or CSAM in any way — these standards apply regardless of who is otherwise eligible to use Beacon. See Beacon’s Community Guidelines for more on Beacon’s 18+ requirement.
3. Reporting a concern
If you suspect CSAE, CSAM, or another child-safety concern involving Project Beacon, please report it right away using Beacon’s in-app Report feature — available from a member’s profile or from within a conversation — and select the reason that best describes your concern (for example, “I think this person is under 18”), adding any relevant details in the note field. Reports are reviewed by Beacon; the reported member is not told who filed the report.
You can also reach Project Beacon’s child-safety contact directly at report@joinprojectbeacon.com. This inbox does not replace the in-app Report feature but is available for anyone who needs to reach Beacon about a child-safety concern, including people who are not signed in to a Beacon account.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or law-enforcement authority right away. Do not wait for a response from Beacon in an emergency.
4. Enforcement
When Project Beacon identifies a violation of these standards, we may take appropriate enforcement action, which can include:
- removing or restricting access to prohibited content;
- restricting or terminating the accounts involved;
- preserving relevant information where legally appropriate; and
- cooperating with lawful investigations.
The specific action taken depends on the nature and severity of the violation and the information available to Beacon.
5. CSAM response and legal compliance
When Project Beacon obtains actual knowledge of apparent or confirmed CSAM on the platform, we will take appropriate action consistent with applicable law and these standards, which can include the enforcement steps described above.
Project Beacon will make reports to the appropriate regional or national authority when required by applicable law. Project Beacon operates from Ontario, Canada, and the authority or authorities a report is made to depends on applicable law and the circumstances of the report — Beacon does not represent that every report is made to any single specific authority.
6. Child safety point of contact
Project Beacon’s designated point of contact for child-safety and CSAE matters, including communications from Google Play, is report@joinprojectbeacon.com.
